【摘要】:Forferromagneticmaterials,magneticparticleexaminationiswidelyspecifiedforthedetectionofsurfaceandnear-surfaceflawssuchascracks,laps,seams,andlinearlyorientednonmetallicinclusions.SuchexaminationsareincludedasmandatoryrequirementsinsomeforgingstandardssuchasSpecificationsA508/A508MandA963/A963M.Useofalternatingcurrentasthepowersourceformagneticparticleexaminationimposesasignificantrestrictiononthedetectionofsubsurfaceindications,sothattheprocedureisessentiallylimitedtothefindingofflawsthatareopentothesurface.Attentionthereforeisdrawntotheneedtohavethecomponentinthefinish-machinedconditionbeforeconductingthemagneticparticleexamination.Thepresenceofresidualmagneticfieldsinacomponentmaybeundesirable,andanadvantageoftheuseofanACpowersourceformagneticparticleexaminationisthatanacceptablelevelofdemagnetizationcanbereadilyachieved.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforthemagneticparticleexaminationofsteelforgingsusingalternatingcurrentasthepowersource.Theprocedurewillproduceconsistentresultsuponwhichacceptancestandardscanbebased.Thispracticedoesnotcontainacceptancelimitsorrecommendedqualitylevels.1.2Onlyalternating50x2013;60cyclecurrentshallbeusedastheelectricpowersourceforanyofthemagnetizingmethods.1.3Whensubsurfaceindicationsaresoughtinforgings,thendcmagnetizationinaccordancewithPracticeA275/A275Mshouldbeused.1.4Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;thereforeeachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththespecification.Unlesstheorderspecifiestheapplicablex201C;Mx201D;specificationdesignation[SIunits],theinch-poundunitsshallbeused.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
